Writing Samples

My undergraduate education as an English major gave me the opportunity to engage in the meaningful exploration of texts from a wide range of time periods, origins, and from a variety of authorial identities. Learning the conventions of strong argument construction, the apt use of language, in-depth research, and proper citation, provided me with a toolbox of successful writing techniques. My command of the language and informs my curriculum construction and my ability to facilitate meaningful lessons.

As a recent graduate, I had the opportunity to bear witness to contemporary teaching models and new methods in higher education. Witnessing differentiated lessons, engaging in constructive dialogue concerning contemporary issues, and working with texts beyond the traditional Western canon of literature gave me a toolkit to educate twenty-first-century citizens.

I have included writing samples as a testament to my ability to effectively engage in critical analysis of various texts and writing forms. See Publications for published written works.
